Do you remember turning on the television on a day home from work or school, only to find that black and white movies were all that was playing? Did you lose yourself in their grandeur, innocence and appropriate morales? I remember admiring the women on the screen, their beauty radiant and their talent overwhelming. These were truly leading ladies, unlike those which we see today. Let’s remember those who stood out the most.
Ginger Rogers was a triple thread – she could dance, she could sing and boy, could she act! Her beauty was legendary and she lit up the screen in dozens of movies and TV appearances. Her work with Fred Astaire was so popular that, even today, people associate their names. Even at 92 should could be found dancing the salsa!
